Coffee Pods: Freshly Roasted Coffee Made Fast and Easy

Coffee Pods is the one of the latest crazes to hit the coffee market. Also called coffee pads, these are freshly-roasted coffee wrapped in circular paper “capsules.” The first pod was originally made by Illy caffe, and it was their idea to introduce a standard pod size to the market.

Why do people love to buy these pods? It’s practically fresh, great-tasting coffee in an instant, although not to be confused with the instant coffee variants that are already in the market. You can make absolutely perfect coffee without any mess at all.

Have you ever tried making espresso from scratch? It’s not an easy feat; there are lots of things that could go wrong. You have to make the right measurement, the right freshness, the rights grind…and the list goes on.

Those who agonize over making the perfect espresso should be thankful for the creation of espresso pods. Espresso pods provide a simple way to make an excellent cup of espresso fast and easy.

By using the pods, there is no need to tamper and no need to use separate grinders just to have your coffee. The pods are packed in laminated bags which preserve the freshness and the flavor.

The pods are not confined to espresso alone. There are now different types of coffee blends incorporated into the pods. Delicious flavors such as roasted hazelnut can be enjoyed by the pods.

Pods come in different sizes, but there are two main ones used by most coffee machines. The popularity of coffee pods has prompted coffeemaker manufacturers to create machines that cater to the pods, complete with adaptors to make everything easy.

There is the 44mm pod which is used mostly in espresso pump machines and the 62mm pod, which is made for certain coffeemaker models such as the Black & Decker Home Café and the Philips Senseo. There is also a 55mm pod for those who prefer more coffee in their brew.
