Ways to Come Up with Espresso Coffee Blend

Espresso coffee blend was first introduced in the early part of the 20th century in Milan, Italy. Throughout the time period until the middle part of 1940s, this kind of coffee blend is created through steam pressure.

Nowadays, there are other machines that are being utilized to produce this product. This was made possible through the creation of machines using spring piston lever.

The espresso coffee blend has a thicker consistency than filter coffee also known as drip brew. The chemical components that can be found in espresso quickly deteriorate through the process of oxidation. What people love about this product is its foamy appearance that is actually its cream that floats on top when served. Such cream or the espresso’s crema contains sugars, proteins and vegetable oils.

Espresso is also known as the base being used by coffee retailers in producing other coffee variants such as macchiato, mochas, cappuccino and lattes. Espresso contains caffeine that is three times more than what can be found on the regular brewed type. The roasting level that is being implemented in creating an espresso varies on every country, depending on the preferences of coffee consumers living in those places. In Southern Italy, where this type originated, a darker roast is often used. But through the northern parts, the roasts being used are lighter.

There are two ways that people prefer in roasting their espresso. The darker mode is known to create more sweetness and fewer level of acidity once the coffee is percolated. It produces more body and creates caramelized features as the roasting time prolongs. The second mode in roasting espresso follows a lighter procedure. This aims to achieve a more pronounced flavor that is prominent on the beans used.

Aside from these two, other roasters combine both processes and blend the final products to produce another distinctive taste that can be enjoyed by their customers.
